Did you know

It is impossible to lick your own elbow. Go ahead. Try!

You can lead a cow upstairs but not downstairs.

Coca-Cola was originally green.

The phrase "rule of thumb" is derived from an old English law
which stated that you couldn't beat your wife with anything wider than your thumb.

These were in our local newspaper this week and I found them online too!

How very intriguing. However the math is wrong. The correct answer is 12345678987654300. Note that it ends in 2 0s. But otherwise very interesting.

Wait, I just did it on my calculator and I got 21 at the end. How come I did and you didn't? Are you sure it's wrong cause if it is I'm calling the newspaper to tell them. I know the editor personally! If you see this comment, then tell me the figuring so I can understand it too, okay?

Lil, not sure. I did it on Works Spreadsheet because my calculator only shows up to 10 digits. The answer I get is what I mentioned. There may be something weird about Works Spreadsheet. If you have Excel, I suggest you do it in Excel.

Happy New Year!

Yrautca can't be right (sorry Y), because it would HAVE to end in 1, since the units digit of each is 1. Does that make sense? If the last digit of each is 1 and you're multiplying, the last digit of the answer will be 1.

The reason you found it on the internet is because that's where THEY found it, I'm SURE! LOL!

Was I going to tell you something else? Who knows!

Kim, why didn't I think of that. I know, we did place values last year and I forgot. lol! Of course, you make sense such that it's clear even to me. I tried it on Microsoft Works Spreadsheet and got two zeros at the end. So the question is why does Microsoft Works Spreadsheet drop the last two digits? My husband and I tried eight 1's and the answer came out correctly. But! with the nine 1's the answer goes beyond trillions and MSW spreadsheet drops the number for ones and tens!
