On Friday night my dear BF happened to make a mixed CD for us to listen to as we hung out that night and he by chance included that song! I had never heard it before and needed some "translation" for the Irish-like accented words but it is a very moving song. I never even knew about the wreck before then. Have some tissue around when you listen, I needed it!

Yucchi! It *is* an incredible song. No repeated verses in it. I've known this song since it came out but I only caught some of the words. This is the first time I've seen all the words. ...And never did I know it was a true story.

yeah, it's a true story. The most famous of all the Great Lakes shipwrecks.

My part of the world, you know. :)
